Captains are required to quickly assess the situation, evaluate hazards, fire conditions, and life risks. A captains plan helps direct operations, sets priorities such as (life safety, incident stabilization, property conservation) and assigns crew tasks. Captains initially manage resources, request additional units and organize teams/crews. Captains responsibilities are to ensure safety, monitor conditions, enforce safety procedures, and account for all personnel.
